Despite receivng thousands of visits per month, I don't consider my blog the height of Internet popularity. Nevertheless, I too receive spam comments from people looking to get free publicity for whatever they wish to peddle. Every once in a while, though, I stumble upon a gem of a spam message pushing an offshore gambling site:
I will recommend my friends to read this.I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often.I am quite sure they will learn lots of new stuff here than anybody else!....

Our industry is so bizarre. They just change a term and they think they've invented technology. You can't just come up with "let's just call that 'cloud'" and it sure beats innovation.
Good to see Ars Technica walking the walk on copyright law. Abuse is rife by both sides of the copyright debate, so it's good to see them take a stand that reflects the true nature of the law:
